Day of Remembrance Talk – Tigard Library

I will be giving a talk at the Tigard Public Library on February 19th, Day of Remembrance.

This is the day in 1942 when FDR signed Executive Order 9066 which authorized the mass forced removal of over 110,000 Japanese Americans from their homes. They were incarcerated in concentration camps for over three years.

I will be telling the story of my mom’s family. They were all incarcerated … except for my uncles who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
