Classical Revolution PDX benefit concert for Haiti

Posted on January 25, 2010 with 3 comments

Last night I had the distinct honor and pleasure of participating in the Classical Revolution PDX benefit concert to raise funds for Haiti Relief. Thank you to all the musicians, singers, and volunteers who put this together in less than 9 days, to the generous donors who were offering things right up to concert time for our silent auction, and to the overflow capacity crowd who came to listen and contribute to such a worthy cause. I am exhausted and at the same time overwhelmed with gratitude!

Here's a wonderful video of the final three works performed: Adagio for Strings by Barber, "Lacrymosa" from Mozart's Requiem, and "A little help from our friends".

Here's a video of Järnefelt's Berceuse arranged for 5 violas by Peggy Swafford

Here's a video of Peggy Swafford's "Remembrance" for 4 violas.

Here's a video archive of the whole concert.

100% of all proceeds (which exceeded $3600) are being forwarded to Partners in Health, a relief organization which deserves your generous support.
